Types of Sheds We Build
We build sheds using the best materials for Swansea’s coastal weather. Most Swansea homes have gardens, so choosing the right shed material is important. The right wood will keep your shed strong for many years in our wet, windy climate.

Pressure-Treated Timber Sheds
This is our most popular choice in Swansea. The wood gets a special treatment that goes deep into the timber. This stops rot, bugs, and water damage. Swansea gets lots of rain each year (1,200mm), so this treatment is really important. These sheds last 15-20 years with very little upkeep—perfect for our coastal weather.
Cedar Workshop Sheds
Cedar sheds are popular in nice areas like Sketty and The Mumbles. Cedar wood has natural oils that keep bugs away and stop weather damage. It looks beautiful and turns a lovely silver-grey colour over time. Cedar sheds look great with Swansea’s old Victorian and Edwardian houses. Perfect if you want something that works well and looks amazing.
Oak Frame Storage Sheds
Oak sheds are the strongest and most traditional option. They’re popular in conservation areas like Uplands. These sheds can last over 50 years! Oak is very dense and has natural chemicals that make it super strong against weather. Many people choose oak for big workshop sheds or when they want to add pergola and gazebo installations to create amazing outdoor spaces.

Our Shed Building Process
1. Free Quote and Site Visit
We start every project by visiting your garden. Our team checks how water drains (very important in Swansea’s clay soil), how we can get to your garden, and where your boundaries are. We talk about what you need to store, which materials you like, and your budget. This careful planning stops nasty surprises and makes sure we follow Swansea Council’s rules.
2. Site Survey and Shed Base Preparation
Getting the base right is really important near the coast. We put in concrete bases for big sheds or wooden frame systems for smaller ones. We know about Swansea’s high water levels and how the ground moves with the seasons. We add proper drainage to stop water building up and special barriers to keep moisture out during our very wet winters.
3. Accurate Framing and Construction
We start building with carefully cut wooden frames using strong traditional joints. We use special rust-proof screws and bolts that won’t corrode in Swansea’s salty air. The walls and roof are designed to handle coastal winds. Our carpenters make sure the roof slope and overhangs are just right to deal with our strong south-west winds and heavy rain.
4. Insulation, Finishing and Planning Permission
We finish by adding air vents to stop dampness building up inside (common in Swansea’s humid weather). We apply protective coatings and fit quality handles and locks made for coastal areas. Most sheds under 2.5m high don’t need planning permission, but there might be special rules in conservation areas like Uplands and Sketty. We give you all the paperwork for your insurance.

Shed Building and Related Services
Many customers combine deck building with their new shed to create the perfect outdoor storage and entertaining space. Both need to work together in Swansea’s coastal weather.

Complete Garden Solutions
We also offer fencing installation to secure your new shed and give you privacy. Our team can design a complete garden setup that works together—shed, deck, and fencing all built to the same high standard.
Coastal Weather Protection
Swansea’s location means salt air, strong winds, and lots of rain. All our outdoor structures are built specifically for these conditions. We use marine-grade fixings and weather-resistant treatments that you won’t find in standard DIY sheds.
Planning and Building Regulations
We handle all the paperwork and make sure your shed meets local building standards. If you need planning permission (rare but possible in conservation areas), we’ll guide you through the whole process.
